Debbie is a native of the city of Fresno and a lifelong resident of West Fresno. Debbie received her early education at Kirk Elementary and graduated from Edison High School. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.

Debbie has committed herself to serving her community as an activist to prioritize change in Education, Health & Wellness, and Economic development. Her focus is to collaborate with other organizations to achieve a shared goal for the benefit of a sustainable community.

Debbie sits on a variety of committees to help identify a number of deficiencies within the community: BAPAC – Black American Political Association of California {Chair}a voice for African American people to be engaged in policy making/change for equity and equality, District 3 Project Review Committee – for businesses / projects looking to come into District 3, the State Center Community College District – Citizen’s Bond Member to oversee a $480 million dollar spending bond, the Southwest Specific Plan – Committee Member, GWPC – Golden Westside Planning Committee{Chair}advocate for West Fresno}, and the Cecil. C. Hinton Community Center Board {President}. A community center in West Fresno has been serving families throughout the city of Fresno since 1968.

Kimberlee {Kim} Mays has lived and served in West Fresno for years. After graduating from Washington Union High School, she moved to Las Vegas, NV to pursue her college education at UNLV graduating with a bachelor’s degree in education. Following graduation, Kim spent twelve years working for the Clark County School District before returning to her hometown, Fresno. 

Kim worked for the Fresno Unified School District for four years. She later went to work for the city of Fresno for eighteen years. Kim spent years working at the Cecil C. Hinton Community Center where she enjoyed working with the youth, adults, and the seniors. Her exemplary to support young people in their personal and social development will not go unnoticed. Kim received the NAACP Image Award for Youth Involvement in 2004.  

Sharon grew up in West Fresno where she attended Franklin Elementary, Irwin Jr. High, and Edison High School. She spent two years at Fresno State University. Sharon later married and moved to Santa Clara where she lived with her family for thirty years. Sharon has two children, Se’Niqua and David, and six grandchildren.

Sharon moved back to Fresno in 2006 and started working at the family business “Wyatt Community Care, Inc.” while volunteering in the West Fresno community. As a member of a line dance team while rehearsing at Hinton Center in April 2018, Sharon attended the Hinton Center Board meeting through an invite. That same day, she would find herself signing up to become a Cecil C. Hinton Center Board of Directors member serving as Treasurer. Today, Sharon still enjoys serving the community through the center while diligently presiding as Treasurer.
